Self-generated concept
Camioncyclette is a basket on wheels.
It’s basically a rectangular basket where space for the wheels and the cyclist have been cut, the rest is dedicated to the loading.
The basket is actually the frame of the rolling object and the whole space can be used.
In a resonnable space, more than 120L of stuff can be loaded.
The front basket is not moving with the front wheel, which makes the ride more stable and safer. Around the crank there space for two batteries in case the user wants an electric assistance.

[...] However, the trailers are a little bit unwieldy, especially downtown and in heavy urban traffic. I wonder we’ll be seeing something like this Camioncyclette anytime soon. Sadly, the bike isn’t in production, but you can see more photos of the bike in action over at the designer’s website. [...]

[...] Bicycles excel as personal transport good for health and the environment. They have their limitations though. A bicycle designed for travelling muddy and rocky trails across the hills and mountains can be less than ideal for a daily commute, especially if part of the journey is made by bus, tram or train. Equally an upright city bike may never give the heart and mind the workout that comes from zooming along on a pencil-thin racer. Then there’s shopping. Picking up a week’s food and sundries for one, nevermind a family, can exceed the limits of bicycle. For some the answer is found in a somewhat cumbersome trailer. Christophe Machet has designed a more practical answer, one which seeks to combine the functions of transporting an individual and their necessities. Perhaps in the future it will be unusual for the bicycle-oriented not to have two or three bicycles, each tuned for a purpose, just as a cabinet maker employs a variety of chisels. Or communities may share load-carriers like Machet’s Camioncyclette. [...]
